Restoring the Skeksis (video podcast through the Henson youtube channel)

Amid the discussion of Hoggle’s restoration, this video discussing how the company is working to restore the Skeksis puppets, from “The Dark Crystal”, might provide some insight into Hoggle’s fate. The full-body Hoggle puppet was made with similar materials, notably the foam latex that crumbles as it decays.

While most of the videos concerning Labyrinth on the Henson youtube channel are excerpts from the “Inside the Labyrinth” documentary, other videos in the channel give great insight into how the costumes and puppets are made. Another video I found on a puppetry channel has footage from Henson’s puppetry workshop in France, of the puppeteers counting. (That channel has some other neat Muppet/Henson videos, too.)
